Instead, we focus on the Don Johnson that took the Atlantic City casinos to the cleaners to the tune of $15m, after learning how to play Blackjack like an absolute beast.

Johnson is a Blackjack legend who won $15m from three Atlantic City casinos in a period of five months between Dec 2010 and April 2011. In a 2012 interview with The Atlantic, Johnson revealed that he won $6m from the Tropicana; $5m from the Borgata and $4m from Caesars, all the while receiving a 20% discount on his losses and a slightly more favourable house rules.

The 49-year old told The Atlantic that he first started playing Blackjack 15 years ago where he would play for $25 per bet. He is the CEO of Heritage Development LLVC, a computer-assisted wagering system for horseracing.

Incredibly, Johnson said he did not win the money by counting cards, and it’s been reported that the losses Johnson created were the first that casinos in Atlantic City had incurred, over a particular month, since they had opened for business back in 1978.

“We ran very unlucky,” said the CEO of Tropicana at the time of the interview.
